Damn Yankees

Helped the school with the musical today, which is now the highlight of my day. Thus saw Damn Yankees for the first time.

Can't remember what went the rest of the day,
remembering, on the street beneath orange streelights going home
sauntering sidling seductive-dance
(too self-assured, don't you dare ask)
spinning sidestepping sliding soutenu
serpentine
not-soprano, contralto sound, singing,
"I always get what I aim for,
and your heart and soul is what I came for..."
completely and sincerely certain
that this is true.

Miles 'n miles n' miles of heart
Oh, it's fine to be a genius of course
But keep that old horse
Before the cart

Who minds those pop bottles flyin'?
The hisses and the boos
The team has been consistent ---
Yeah, we always lose
But we're laughin' cause... We've got heart

What do we want?! --- NEXT POINT!
How're we gonna get it?! --- WITH HEART!
How strong are we?!! --- TOO STRONG!!
